Police lay charges - Property Crime in Katherine 9 September

Members from Strike Force Cerberus have charged a youth in relation to the theft of two dirt bikes from a property near Katherine.

Police allege the 15-year-old and a co-offender stole the bikes from a property on Edith Farms Road on 5 September.

Yesterday police attended a property in the Katherine rural area where the two bikes were located, and subsequently arrest the youth.

He was charged with:

  • Trespass
  • Stealing
  • Possess stolen property

The youth was bailed to appear on 10 September.

Enquiries into the co-offender are continuing.

Superintendent Craig Garland thanked the public for their assistance.

"It is pleasing to see the strong community spirt in Katherine. Members of the community were instrumental in locating the stolen bikes and assisting in the identification of the offenders. Strike Force Cerberus members will continue to detect, deter, disrupt, investigate and prosecute offenders of property crime."
