Police lay charges - Stealing at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have charged a 16-year-old male in relation to a stealing at a commercial business in Casuarina during the early hours of yesterday morning.

It is alleged that four youths walked through a take-away drive through on foot. The 16-year-old has allegedly opened the payment window and reached through, taking the float from the register.

Police arrived and observed the youths running from the scene. A short foot chase resulted in two youths, aged 11 and 13, being apprehended. A large amount of money was found in their possession and seized by police.

Strike Force Trident members continued to investigate the matter and a short time later arrested the 16-year-old. The youth was conveyed to the Watch House and charged with:

  • stealing
  • trespass
  • damage to property

He will face court at a later date.

The remaining three alleged offenders will be dealt with by way of summons.
