Police make arrest after grass fires in Springvale

A man has been arrested following a number of small fires that were allegedly lit in Springvale this morning.

Detectives from Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit have been told three small fires were lit in the vicinity of Westall Road about 8.30am.

The fires were extinguished and there was no property damage.

The 29-year-old Springvale man was arrested nearby and remains in custody.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was travelling along Westall Road between Osbourne Avenue and Rosebank Avenue and who may have dash-cam footage of the fires or anyone seen in the vicinity to contact police.
