Ringwood police have impounded a vehicle after it was allegedly involved in an incident with pedestrians on Saturday.
An incident was reported to police after a family with four children were walking along the Mullum Mullum trail about 1.15pm.
It is alleged a male riding a powered bike collided with an eight-year-old boy on the track.
The child sustained facial injuries and was treated at hospital.
A 42-year-old Ringwood man was last night arrested in a relation to the incident.
He was released from custody and is expected to be charged on summons with conduct endangering serious injury, unlicensed riding, unregistered riding, drive in a manner dangerous and reckless cause injury.
The man's bike was seized as part of the investigation.
