Police make arrest after nursing home break-in, South Australia

A man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into a nursing home at Kilburn.

Just before 11.30pm on Tuesday 2 July, police were called to the premises on Churchill Road after reports that a man had broken into the front entrance.

Patrols searched the nursing home, and located the suspect hiding in a kitchen.

No staff members or residents were confronted by the man.

He had earlier tried to break into a house in nearby Northcote Street, and left some of his clothing at the scene.

A 39-year-old Kilburn man was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and being unlawfully on premises. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
