Police Make Arrest After Pursuit Through Inner West

A man has been arrested after a pursuit through Sydney's Inner West this morning.

Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command were patrolling Sydenham Road, Marrickville, about 1.55am (Tuesday 10 March 2026), when they saw a car being driven without headlights.

A pursuit was initiated when the driver allegedly failed to stop when directed.

Police followed the vehicle to George Street, Sydney, where it hit a parked car about 2am, tearing the tyre from a wheel. Police terminated the pursuit, and the driver allegedly continued on three tyres and a metal rim.

PolAir took over and tracked the vehicle to Glenn Street, Marrickville, where it was abandoned. A perimeter was established, and a 25-year-old man was arrested a short time later.

The man has been taken to Newtown Police Station where inquiries are now underway.
