Police make arrest - Criminal damage in Alice Springs

A 36-year-old man will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court in relation to damage caused to a remote council building in Central Australia.

Just before 10am on Tuesday July 14 a woman ran into the office seeking safety when it is alleged the man tore a locked flyscreen door off its hinges and kicked in a wooden front door.

Fearing for the woman's safety, police conducted a two day search for the pair who were found in Alice Springs yesterday.

The man was arrested and charged with one count each of Unlawful Entry, Criminal Damage and Breach Domestic Violence Order, and is scheduled to appear before court today.
