Police Make Arrest - Domestic Violence In Alice Springs 10 October

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 39-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.

Around 7:55am, police received a report of a domestic violence disturbance occurring at a residence in Araluen. It was reported the male offender was armed with an edged weapon and was threatening a family member who had barricaded herself inside a bedroom.

Frontline officers attended with a police canine in support and located the man still inside the residence. Police commanded the man to surrender, and he was taken into custody without further incident. An edged weapon was located nearby.

The 39-year-old remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.
