Police Make Arrest - Domestic Violence In Alice Springs 18 February

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 50-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence stabbing that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday evening.

Around 8:20pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that an adult female had been stabbed by a male known to her at a residence on South Terrace, The Gap.

Police attended and arrested the 50-year-old alleged offender at the scene. The victim was conveyed to hospital by St John Ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established and the edged weapon allegedly used was located by police nearby.

The offender remains in custody with charges expected to follow.
