Police make arrest over unlawful entry and stolen motor vehicle in Alice Springs

A youth has been arrested and charged in relation to an unlawful entry and theft of a motor-vehicle in Alice Springs earlier this week.

Police responded to a report of an unlawful entry at a Gillen home in which a Ford Ranger Utility was stolen in the early hours of Wednesday 30 September.

The vehicle, which had been abandoned at an unoccupied home, was later recovered by police.

A 17-year-old youth who was identified as one of the offenders in the vehicle, was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor vehicle by Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Branch.

The youth will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Police inquiries continue to identify four other offenders involved in the incident.
