Police make arrest over unlawful entry - Durack

Northern Territory Police have arrested a youth following two unlawful entries at Durack on Sunday.

At 1:30am, three offenders allegedly unlawfully entered a business on University Avenue. A number of items were stolen, including a large safe placed on top of a trolley. The offenders had difficulties trying to wheel the safe across the golf course and ended up leaving it in the rough before attempting to unlawfully enter another business.

Upon police arrival all three offenders fled the scene.

Strike Force Trident members canvassed CCTV in the area and identified the 17-year-old male who was later arrested and charged with:

  • Possess housebreaking implement
  • Damage to Property x 2
  • Unlawfully enter a building x 2
  • Stealing

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said "Police will continue to locate and arrest offenders who are actively targeting commercial properties and creating unnecessary stress to business owners.

"Any residents in the area with CCTV footage facing toward the golf course are urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference number 10206171."
