Police make drug arrest after proactive CBD investigation

A man has been charged with drug offences following an investigation in the Sydney CBD yesterday.

About 10am (Thursday 23 January 2020), officers attached to the Sydney City Proactive Team were targeting the supply of prohibited drugs on Liverpool and George streets, Sydney.

Police observed a number of persons believed to be conducting drug transactions on Liverpool Street.

At 1pm, a man was stopped by police, and prescription medication found.

The 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with possession of a prohibited drug, and possession of a prescribed restricted substance.

The man, from Paddington, was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 12 February 2020.
