Police officer charged in Southern Region

A police officer will face court next month over an alleged firearm offence, NSW Police say.

The Senior Constable, who is attached to Southern Region, was issued a Future Service Court Attendance Notice for not keep firearm safely.

The 51-year-old was issued the Future Service Court Attendance Notice yesterday.

He is due to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 14 September 2016.

The officer is currently suspended with pay.
