A police officer has been charged after a prohibited weapon and a firearm were located on a property in the state’s far west, NSW Police say.
Police attended a home in Gol Gol on Tuesday 4 April 2017, where they spoke to a resident and located a crossbow, a rifle with accessories and ammunition.
The items were seized by investigators who commenced inquiries.
Following investigations, a senior constable, attached to the state’s western region, was arrested tomorrow.
He was charged with possess prohibited weapon without a permit, possess unregistered firearm – not prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely and possess ammunition without holding a licence.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wentworth Local Court on Tuesday 6 June 2017.
