Police officer charged with drink-driving in Gilead

An off-duty police officer has been charged with a drink-driving offence, NSW Police say.

About 2.50pm yesterday, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command spoke to the driver of a vehicle on Appin Road.

The female driver was arrested after returning a positive roadside breath test.

She was taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.186.

The officer, who is attached to the North West Metropolitan Region, was issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for high-range PCA.

She is due to appear at the Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 20 June 2016.

The duty status of the officer is currently being reviewed.
