Police officer stood down, Community Contact Command

A 53 year old male Sergeant from Community Contact Command has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and will be tasked to perform non-operational duties, Queensland Police say.

The officer is the subject of an investigation concerning off duty conduct and was served with a Notice to Appear for an offence of common assault. He will appear before the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on 31 October 2016.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
