Police officer stood down in Southern Region, QLD

A 33-year-old male senior constable from Southern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and will be tasked to perform non-operational duties.

The officer is alleged to have inappropriately accessed the Queensland Police Service computer systems and information and has been served a notice to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 11, 2019 charged with Computer Hacking and Misuse, pursuant to s.408E Criminal Code.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
