Police officer suspended in Southern Region, QLD

A 46-year-old constable from the Southern Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Police say.

Child Safety and Sexual Crime Group investigators with oversight from the Ethical Standards Command have charged the man with eleven counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count of rape.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
