Police probe after car crashes into pole in Bungendore

Police are investigating after a vehicle hit a pole at Bungendore last night, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 8.30pm today, police and emergency services were called to Bungendore Road, near Molonglo Street, Bungendore, after reports of a crash.

Officers from Monaro Local Area Command arrived to find a Ford Fairmont had left the roadway and hit a pole.

The female passenger, aged in her 20s, was trapped for a short time, before being extricated from the vehicle.

Emergency services arrived and the injured passenger was airlifted to Canberra Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

The 32-year-old male driver was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Canberra Hospital suffering minor injuries.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to the crash to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
