Police are appealing for information as inquiries begin into how a man came to be found injured in a street in Yennora this morning.
Emergency services were called to Orchardleigh Street about 4.40am (Saturday 11 July 2026), and found a man – believed to be aged in his 70s – suffering head injuries.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital. Police have been told his condition is critical.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command have established a crime scene and have commenced injuries.
As police have been unable to speak with the man, how he came to be injured is unknown. They are speaking with people at the scene who found the injured man and called Triple Zero (000).
Police are now appealing for anyone in the vicinity of Orchardleigh Street between 4am and 4.40am when the man was found, and who has relevant information and/or dashcam, to contact Fairfield Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
