Police are investigating an armed robbery in the state's North West at the weekend.
Officers attached to Central North Police District were called to a home on Tudor Street, Bourke, about 3.40am last Saturday (9 May 2026), and were told a man had been threatened with a machete.
Police attended the address and were told that the resident – a man in his 70s – had got out of his ute to close gates on the property when two young males approached him. One male allegedly threatened the resident with a machete, while the other male reportedly got in the man's ute and drove off.
A short time later, the male driving the ute reportedly stopped and ran from the vehicle, with both unknown males then fleeing south on Wilson Street.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The vehicle was seized for forensic examination.
As investigations continue, police would like to speak with two males who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
One is described as being a young male of slim build, around 150cm tall, wearing dark pants, with the other described as being a young male, around 145cm tall, wearing long pants.
Inquiries continue.
