Police are appealing for information following a traffic incident in the state's Northern Tablelands region.
Shortly before 1pm on Friday 13 June 2025, police were told an unknown driver of a silver Toyota Corolla, with Queensland number plates, was speeding on Rusden Street, Armidale, approaching Odell Street.
The car continued at high speed through a give way sign without slowing down.
A few moments later, a second vehicle, a black Toyota Coupe, travelled along the same street at high speed behind the hatchback. The unknown driver also failed to slow at the give way sign.
The driver of the hatchback collided with a ute at a roundabout on Rusden and Markham streets, with the driver failing to stop and exchange details. The driver and passenger of the ute were not injured.
At the time, there was heavy traffic and pedestrians nearby.
Officers from New England Police District were contacted and have commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, police have released images of the two cars, a silver Toyota Corolla and a black Toyota coupe, allegedly involved in the incident.
Police would like to speak to the drivers of the cars, who may be able to assist with inquiries.
