Police have charged a man following an investigation into the theft of CCTV cameras from Charlestown CBD, NSW Police say.
Police attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command have been investigating the theft of CCTV cameras since June, from a number of businesses within the Charlestown CBD.
Today, today, police from the Lake Macquarie Target Action Group executed a search warrant at a house in Ida Street Charlestown.
Police will allege they located nine CCTV cameras, along with cannabis and ammunition.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the house and taken to Belmont Police Station. He was charged with six counts of larceny, break, enter and steal, two counts of goods in custody, possess prohibited drug and possess ammunition without holding a licence.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Belmont Local Court on 21 September 2016.
