Police Probe Charlestown Shooting Reports

Police have commenced an investigation after multiple shots were fired in the state's north overnight.

About 11.40pm yesterday (Sunday 3 May 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Dickson Street, Charlestown, following reports of a public place shooting.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District were told multiple shots were fired at a house before a red Ute left the scene on Kahibah Road.

The occupants of the house were not injured.

A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
