Police probe double fatality in Southern Region

Emergency services remain at the scene of a head-on crash that occurred in the state’s Southern Region this morning, NSW Police say.

About 8am (Friday 25 May 2018), two vehicles collided on the Barton Highway, Wallaroo, near the ACT border.

Two passengers in one of the vehicles died at the scene.

Both drivers have been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Multiple passengers in both vehicles have been taken to hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the head-on crash, one of the vehicles crashed into a third car. The driver and passengers of the third vehicle were not injured.

The highway will remain closed for some time while investigations are carried out by officers from The Hume Police District.
