Police probe house fire in Lidcombe

Police are investigating a house fire in Sydney’s south-west this morning, NSW Police say.

About 3.30am tomorrow, emergency services were called to Delhi Street, Lidcombe, following reports of a house fire.

On arrival, officers located a house well-alight.

The blaze was extinguished by fire fighters from Fire & Rescue NSW; however, the home sustained significant damage.

The home was abandoned and no one was injured.

Police from Flemington Local Area Command established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers once the site has been deemed safe.

An investigation into the incident is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
