Police Probe Multiple Lake Macquarie Break-In Attempts

Police are appealing for information following attempted break and enters at homes in Lake Macquarie and on the Central Coast last month.

About 3.10am on Tuesday 28 October 2025, eight males were captured on CCTV attempting to enter a house on Maddie Street, Bonells Bay. The males were unable to access the house and were seen leaving the area in two vehicles – a white MG SUV and a black Toyota Corolla – that had been stolen from homes on the Central Coast a short time earlier.

About 3.50am, the males drove the vehicles to Freemans Drive, Cooranbong, where they attempted to gain access to a service station using various objects including poles and hammers. The group were disturbed by a neighbour and left the scene.

About 4.10am, the males attempted to enter more homes in Catherine Hill Bay; however, were unable to gain access.

About 5am, the males gained access to a home on Macquarie Grove, Caves Beach, where an Isuzu D-Max utility was taken.

Lake Macquarie Detectives and Operation Soteria police were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police recovered the MG and Toyota; however, the Isuzu utility is yet to be located.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of the vehicles and wish to speak with the occupants, each described as being of slim build, aged in their late teens, and last seen wearing hooded jumpers, long pants, joggers, and face coverings.

Anyone with information about the incidents, or who is able to identify the males, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
