Police are investigating after reports of shots fired in Newcastle today, NSW Police say.
About 1.45pm today, police were called to Hanbury Street, Mayfield, following reports of shots being fired.
A man and woman at the location were not physically injured during the incident.
Officers from Newcastle City Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a 20-year-old man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. It is believed he was in the area at the time of the incident.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
