Police Probe String of Armed Robberies in Northwest

Police are investigating a series of armed robberies in Melbourne's north-west overnight.

It is understood three to four offenders, wearing ski masks and armed with weapons, attended a service station on Dohertys Road, Truganina just before midnight on 1 July.

The group attempted to force entry to the store but were unsuccessful and fled empty handed.

The offenders attended another service station on Sayers Road, Williams Landing about 12.20am on 2 July.

It is understood the group forced entry and stole cigarettes before fleeing.

A few minutes later, they attended a third service station on Leakes Road, Laverton North.

The group, again armed with weapons including knives and a baseball bat, stole a pack of energy drinks and left the store.

Police were called to another armed robbery at a service station on Warrigal Road, Bentleigh East about 1.30am.

It's believed four offenders, armed with a hammer, forced entry through a door and stole cigarettes.

The offenders remain outstanding and may be travelling in a stolen grey Mercedes Benz.

No one was physically injured during the incidents.
