Police Probe Suspicious House Fires in Merrylands

An investigation is continuing following two fires at a home on Badham Street, Merrylands, about 3.30am and 11.30pm on Wednesday 14 May 2025.

Police were told about 3.30am, a neighbour extinguished a small fire on the driveway of the home, which was not reported to police at the time.

About 2pm, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended the home where a report was made.

There were no reports of injuries and minor damage was observed to the driveway.

About 11.30pm, emergency services responded to the same home after reports of a fire.

The fire was extinguished by a neighbour before the arrival of Fire and Rescue NSW; however, the front of the home sustained significant damage.

There were no reports of injuries, and the fires are being treated as suspicious.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incidents has commenced.
