Police release CCTV over aggravated robbery in Villawood

Police have released CCTV footage after a man was assaulted and robbed at a business in Sydney’s south-west at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm on Saturday 4 November 2017, police have been told a man entered a business on Christina Road, Villawood, and approached a male employee.

The man repeatedly punched the employee and assaulted another man who tried to intervene.

The man then stole the employee’s bum bag, which contained cash, a mobile phone and keys, and was last seen fleeing on foot along Christina Road.

Officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted has been described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his early 20s with black hair tied back in a ponytail. He was described as wearing grey track pants and a black shirt.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
