Police Rescue Three People From Unit Fire, Tugun

Gold Coast police have released vision of the rescue of three people from a unit fire at Tugun in the early hours of Sunday 7 September.

Around 12.40am, officers were conducting routine patrols of Tugun when they noticed smoke billowing from the rear of a building on Golden Four Drive.

Upon further investigation, they located a fire inside an upstairs unit.

Despite heavy smoke, the officers entered the building and safely evacuated a 76-year-old man, his 77-year-old wife and their 14-year-old grandson.
