Police responding to fatal motorcycle crash at Mount Stanley

Police are investigating following a fatal motorcycle crash at Mount Stanley this morning (January 21).

Initial information suggests at about 11.30am the motorcycle with a passenger in a sidecar was travelling north along Western Branch Road when it left the roadway, crashing into a ditch.

The rider, a 68-year-old man, was declared deceased at the scene and the passenger, a 56-year-old woman, was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who was driving in the area in the times leading up to this crash.
