Police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at Central Coast

A child has died following a single-vehicle crash on the Central Coast this morning.

Just after 9.15am (Saturday 20 February 2021), emergency services were called to Fagans Road, Lisarow, on the Central Coast, after reports a Nissan X-trail had hit a power pole.

A child in the vehicle died at the scene.

The driver, a man believed to be aged in his 40s, was freed after being trapped.

He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition while a second child was airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attending.

Fagans Road remains closed between Woodview Ave and The Ridgeway. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner. Inquiries continue.
