Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Carrara

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Carrara on Wednesday, January 31.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 6am, a 2013 Jeep Cherokee collided with a pushbike at the intersection of Nerang Broadbeach Road and Neilsens Road.

The pushbike rider, a 64-year-old Clear Island Waters man, was transported to the Gold University Hospital in a critical condition where he passed away yesterday, February 3.

The Jeep driver, a 53-year-old Carrara man, was not physically injured.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision or CCTV is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
