Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Northgate 3 August

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a single vehicle crash in Northgate overnight.

Initial investigations indicate at 10.10pm a car was travelling south on Earnshaw Road when it has left the roadway and hit a tree.

A man in his twenties, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.

The driver, a 23-year-old Logan man, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing to determine if speed was a contributing factor to the crash.

The Queensland Police Service is committed to reducing the number of lives lost on our roads.

Data shows that serious crashes can be significantly reduced when drivers recognise and avoid the 'Fatal Five' behaviours: speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, fatigue and distraction.
