A man has died following a serious traffic crash in Newtown this afternoon, 8 August.
Around 1.15pm, police and emergency services were called to James Street following reports a truck travelling eastbound had collided with a Nissan X-trail travelling in the opposite direction, before crashing into a residential unit block, near the intersection of Anzac Avenue.
The driver of the truck, a man in his 50's, died at the scene.
Four people travelling in the Nissan were not seriously injured.
A woman who was inside the unit at the time, was treated for shock.
The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or relevant vision of the crash to contact police.
