Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Mitchell

A man has died following a traffic crash at Mitchell in the Maranoa region yesterday afternoon, 23 September.

Around 4.20pm, a silver Toyota Avalon was heading northbound on Mitchell Saint George Road when it left the road and rolled.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 71-year-old local man died at the scene.

A second passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Merritt's Creek sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital while the driver, a 37-year-old woman from Mitchell received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Anyone with further information or with relevant footage is urged to contact police.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are ongoing.
