Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Margate

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash between a vehicle and pedestrian in Margate last night, 17 November.

Emergency services were called to Margate Parade around 11.27pm, following reports a vehicle, believed to be a white ute, had struck a 17-year-old girl.

The vehicle fled the scene following the crash.

Upon arrival, police located the girl with life-threatening injuries and rendered CPR.

She was declared deceased at the scene a short time later.

Police are appealing to anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage of the area, including Mabel Street and Margate Parade, around the time of the incident, to get in touch.

Investigations remain ongoing.
