Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Cloncurry 28 March

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal single-vehicle crash in Cloncurry this morning, 28 March.

Initial information indicates around 1.45am, a grey Holden Captiva was travelling west along Ramsay Street, at the intersection of the Barkly Highway, before it left the roadway and rolled down an embankment.

The Captiva contained five occupants at the time of the crash.

A 17-year-old Sunset girl was ejected from the vehicle and located deceased by first responders.

Two other passengers were airlifted to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 29-year-old Cloncurry woman, and a passenger were airlifted to Mount Isa in a stable condition.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone with relevant information or vision to come forward.
