Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Bancroft 28 May

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred in Bancroft yesterday evening, 27 May.

Initial investigations indicate a Toyota Landcruiser was travelling on Gladstone Monto Road around 10:50pm when the driver lost control and left the road near to the intersection with Savilles Road. The vehicle then rolled several times.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old Bancroft man, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased a short time after the crash.

The driver, a 22-year-old Bancroft man, sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Monto Hospital.

Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone with relevant information or footage to contact police.
