Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Damper Creek

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on the Bruce Highway at Damper Creek this afternoon (January 28).

Initial investigations indicate just before 4pm a black Mitsubishi Lancer and white Mitsubishi Triton collided with each other near Five Mile Creek Road.

The 44-year-old female driver of the Triton was transported to Ingham Hospital in a stable condition.

The 31-year-old male driver of the Lancer was airlifted to Townsville University Hospital in a serious condition.

A 69-year-old male passenger of the Lancer suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam vision to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
