Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Cloncurry

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred yesterday afternoon near Cloncurry.

Initial investigations suggest that a road train and a ute collided on the Barkley Highway around 40km west of Cloncurry at 4.50pm.

The driver of the truck, a 32-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the ute, a 48-year-old man, was transported to Mount Isa Hospital for treatment minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
