Police responding to serious traffic crash at Noosa Heads

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a motorcyclist was involved in a traffic crash in Noosa Heads overnight.

Initial inquiries indicate around 10.20pm the motorcycle was travelling south on Sunshine Beach Road when the rider has entered the right turn lane approaching Bicentennial Drive and lost control of the motorcycle.

The rider, a 54-year-old Victorian man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
