Police responding to serious traffic crash at Wishart

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash in Wishart overnight.

At 1am, a white Nissan X-Trail was travelling east on Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road when the vehicle left the road and collided with a carport and two parked vehicles.

The X-Trail then caught alight resulting in the 22-year-old female driver from Brisbane being pulled from the wreckage by local residents.

The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment to critical injuries, where she remains.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for any witnesses to come forward as well as anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam vison of the area at the time.

Investigations are ongoing.
