Police responding to serious traffic crash at Bracken Ridge

A 38-year-old Elimbah man is in serious condition following a truck rollover on the Gateway Motorway today (October 17).

Initial investigations indicate a crane truck was travelling northbound around 8.50am when the vehicle has lost control and overturned near the Bracken Ridge exit.

The driver, the single occupant of the vehicle, was entrapped and freed by emergency services.

The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with serious injuries.

Both northbound lanes of the Gateway motorway were closed for several hours and reopened shortly after 1.15pm.

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact police.
