Police responding to serious traffic crash at Mutarnee

Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Mutarnee, north of Rollingstone this afternoon.

At about 12.50pm, a motorcycle travelling along the Bruce Highway collided with a guard rail leading onto Ed Kratzmann Bridge.

The male rider of the motorcycle, a man in his twenties, received serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.

The Bruce Highway was blocked in both directions whilst emergency services responded and has since reopened.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing with police appealing for any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
