Police are investigating after a Honda Accord Euro appears to have lost control and crashed on Nerang Broadbeach Road at Nerang yesterday afternoon.
Police were called at 5.30pm after a member of the public observed the car in the lawn cemetery.
Investigators believe the car was travelling east, has gone down an embankment, hit two trees and stopped in the lawn cemetery.
The driver left the scene before members of the public found the car.
A number of lawn plaques (lawn headstones) have been damaged by the vehicle.
Investigators are appealing for the driver, or anyone with further information, to contact police.
The vehicle is not currently listed as stolen.
