Police search for man impersonating police in Sydney City

Detectives are appealing for information after a man pretending to be a police officer approached a woman at Town Hall Railway Station.

About 10.30pm on Sunday 1 December 2019, police were called after a man followed a woman through the train station.

Officers were told the man asked the woman to assist him with a drug smuggling investigation and showed a fake police badge.

Police have released CCTV vision of a man who may be able to help with their inquiries.

He's described as being of Asian appearance, about 170cm tall, with a slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, backpack and white-rimmed glasses.
