Police search for man missing in water off Ceduna, SA

Police and Emergency Service crews will resume a search in the morning off the coast of Ceduna, for a man who disappeared in the water, according to SA Police.

Just after 6pm on Saturday 21 January, Ceduna patrols were chasing a man on foot, wanted for recent offending, when he entered the water off Dowling Crescent to avoid apprehension.

The man was seen to swim about 200 metres from shore, before patrols lost sight of the wanted man.

A water search using local SES and National Parks and Wildlife boats failed to locate the missing man.

Police Water Operations from Adelaide will be attending the scene in the morning, along with STAR group officers to assist in the search.
